Does premium processing guarantee approval in 15 days? How long does preparation take?
Updated: October 29, 2026
Premium processing does not guarantee approval. For eligible O-1 petitions, USCIS generally must take a qualifying adjudicative action within 15 business days. This may be approval, denial, an RFE or a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID). After an RFE or NOID, the clock restarts under the applicable rules. Evidence preparation, consultation opinions, visa interviews and passport return take additional time. Check current eligibility, fees and timing on the official page before filing.
